Music by Antonín Dvořák, libretto by Jaroslav Kvapil
In the depths of a moonlit forest, the water nymph Rusalka dreams of becoming human to experience the love of a mortal prince. With the help of a witch’s magic, she gains human form but at a terrible cost—she loses her voice. As Rusalka enters the prince’s world, their love is tested by betrayal and mistrust, ultimately leading to tragedy. Torn between two worlds, Rusalka faces a heart-wrenching choice that will seal her fate. Dvořák's luminous score and Kvapil’s poetic libretto weave a haunting tale of love, sacrifice, and the longing for the unattainable.
